How to calculate a percentage
To find a percentage of a number, divide the percentage by 100 and multiply it by the number. For example, to find 20% of 250:
20 ÷ 100 × 250 = 50
How to calculate percentage increase
To calculate a percentage increase, subtract the original number from the new number, divide the difference by the original number, then multiply by 100.
Example: 100 increases to 125 = 25% increase
